Hallo dear developers
I like the Xperia XZ premium but i really miss some very useful and cool features that i had on my beloved sony xperia Z3 copper .
1-the double tap to wake the phone up
this was so useful to quick see the time and date,to get some light when it was dark and i was looking for something sweet near my bed
2-the splitted wifi button so i could or just turn the network off or on OR if i pressed the lower part of it i saw the whole list of networks. This was brilliant (on picture)
3-And now the thing i miss mostly. The picture app that showed all my pictures on my homepage with a option to scroll through them on the main screen.Pleas if this things can be applied on my XZ premium than tell me how?If not maybe make it possible in a update.
Thank You

Sebastian_Courel how come the Album widget was removed???
OMG I did not receive my device yet but this is very bad information for me...
Since long time ago Sony is constantly removing its unique features but this is too much for me!
At least provide an option to download all these features and widgets from Google Play.
Please give us back all the widgets (including camera widget, old animated weather widget, now Album widget and many others) and give us back small apps and the Radio!
Sony is cuting its uniqueness too much for me, now this is almost plain android which I definitely do not like. No unique animations, icons, look and design. Nothing interesting, just plain, ugly and boring Android. There is almost nothing that differentiate Sony from other chinese devices... only theme. I wonder when you are planning to remove theme???
I preordered it and did not get it yet but I think it will be my last Sony phone.
Meanwhile you can continue to remove the features.

same here
and I'm double tapping my device every day a few times without any effect
Yeah I'm thinking like that too.My first smartphone was also a Sony phone(Xperia Z) and there were really good widgets including in your message. Now they're gone and also there is no dt2w(maybe it can be available in the future but still there is no),no night light(blue light filter) because it's really useful for me at least. There are almost no distinguishing features on the software part and the sad thing is that all of these features are available on almost all other flagship phones.Maybe that may make sense to publish faster Android updates but this way there are not any customization settings on software and it's starting to get really boring without any customizations.OK this is typical Sony interface,it's very similar to AOSP rom and that makes it really fast this is a good thing but I think these small features should be available for this phone and Sony should have some unique features
Yes, now this is almost pure copy paste job from stock google android...
Even Stock Android have more features than xperia UI ! SONY need to hire better software Engineer !

surely you're exaggerating now...
I'd like to add my vote for double tap to wake (DT2W).
The XZ Premium has replaced my reliable 3 year old Z2. The Z2 has DT2W and it has worked faultlessly. For phone without a physical home key, I see this as essential functionality.
To a lesser extent, I also miss:
- Small apps
- Album/Photo widget
- FM radio (yes, I know I can use apps for this, but I still found the FM radio useful)
- Ability to close all app in the 'recent apps' screen
- While charging, screen does not show time until charge complete (Z2 had this)
Basically, I love the new hardward (speed, screen, camera) but the XZP seems to have lost many software features present in my old Z2.

No longer needed due to Nougat multi window feature.
- Album/Photo widget
Probably removed due to low usage.
- FM radio (yes, I know I can use apps for this, but I still found the FM radio useful)
FM radio was being removed due to low usage and not being stable sometimes.
- Ability to close all app in the 'recent apps' screen
It already exists, check again please.
- While charging, screen does not show time until charge complete (Z2 had this)
Now that we have fast charging, 10 mins charging should give you estimated 5+ hrs power time. You can calculate the rest then.

- A lot of the old features that you loved from Z2 and so on have either been removed or revamped in order to maintain a faster & stable android updates.
@BTron what do you need the "clear all" button in the recent apps list for? clearing apps from there doesn't do anything to performance or battery life. just keep using your phone and let the system manager the memory by itself
@najodleglejszy agreed. I usually don't like posting random internet articles, but this is a decent one on the subject :
