I'm sorry that this has taken some time. I just got information today.
This happens when you have two SIM’s that needs different configurations. The active configuration is chosen based on the SIM card being used. In this case it is the modem parameters that make sure the connection works well with the current SIM. So when the data connection is moved to a SIM requiring different settings, the phone reboots to change them.
Hi @Valent, I'm sorry to hear that.
Does this happen when you switch SIM for mobile data in the phone's Settings menu?
I just want to be sure that I fully understand what happens.
If you can send me a PM with the following information I can forward this internally for investigation.
You can see the build number in Settings > About phone > Build number.
Thank you for the PM you sent me. I've forwarded this internally and will let you know as soon as I know anything new.
This rebooting happends on every dual sim phones after and excluding z3 (z3+, z5, x, x performance, xa ultra and xz)
The real problem is with x and xz. Normally, I have a sim card and a sd card. When I leave my home country, I will insert a second sim. Of course, removing the sim slot requires a reboot. Once it is booted, it requires a second reboot to optimise the data. The is very annoying, because during the process, you have to confirm the reboot, and also enter the pin twice.
I am sure you can think of a better way to insert a second sim without so much hassle, especially if you are going to use hybrid sim trays in future Xperias.
so is there any update for this? as switching the data from sim 1 to sim 2 in settings always restarts the phone.. i used s7 edge and constantly switch the data provider and no restarts. help pls as its annoying and now i rarely switch data cards..but that defeats the purpose of a dual sim.
