HI
I have this phone SOny Xperia XZ Prenium for last few months with Virgin , Australia. Uses Optus Network.
My Google Map is not working properly. I can enter my destination, Get Direction but when i press Start, the navigration doesnt go to the street level, where it says turn left or right. It just zoom to the Map level. I have to park car on the side of the road as the map was not giving any directions!!!
The only workaround i have it to Uninstall Updates on Map. the Clear data and cache is not solution. It has to be Uninstall Udpdates. This problem can occur daily and frequenctly as soon as I go to the Wifi, Map updates and I am back to the issue.
Does anyone has the real solution OR is this a bug with Sony Android and Google Map???
No this is not the solution. Where are Sony people when you need them. This is a Sony OS issues
Well, if you are here looking for support from Sony, you are out of luck. It is very rare that there are any official reply from anyone these days.
Anyway, I do have the same issue, and it seems that the only way to get it working again is by restarting the phone. (No need to go all the way to uninstalling the app).
Here again is another tough one to figure out...is it Sony, or is it Google??
Try using GPS Status from the Play Store...I have the Pro version...and see if running through the various settings and tests shows a problem with the phone itself. If the phone tests OK then the issue is with Google Maps...if the phone has a hardware problem...well then you can blame Sony and look into a repair.
Personally I put my money on Google as being the problem here. Just like everything else they cannot leave well enough alone...they are constantly adding useless crap to the maps app cluttering it up and breaking what used to be a great app. All I need is directions...not where every stinking fast food and coffee shop is at every turn!
HI
I will try to restart the phone and check. It is a useful feature and that should just work. it makes life so difficult. Giving the phone to repair and see how it goes. I already tried to do a factory reset and issue was back.

HI
Just went to the Provider outlet.
Issue was replicated on another Sony xzp thus it is a Google Map Or Sony Android issue. Due to the short time prior xmas, i will give try intructions on how to replicate and send instructions. Does anyone know how to contact Sony about this?
@miteshk since Google Maps is developed by Google, it's them that should be notified about the issue. Sony can't fix a third party app.
