I've searched high and low for information on this, but to no avail.
I experience heightened (2x-3x) battery drain when bluetooth is enabled, even with scanning disabled.
Ordinarily, my XZ1C would pair with my Fitbit Charge 2 and/or my car (UK Fiesta 2017). Even when away from my car, and with all day sync and notifications disabled on the fitbit app, bluetooth is causing a wakelock, which in turn is causing drain on the battery.
Currently, my only solution is to keep BT off which cripples some of the functionality of my phone, particularly pushing notifications to my fitbit.
Has anyone else experienced this drain/wakelock with BT enabled?
Have you ever looked at idle drain with bluetooth off as a comparison?
I have, and I noticed 2-3x the idle drain when I have my Pebble connected. Also, I'm paired with my car's BT audio system, and I've only been turning BT on when I'm driving, but the hal_bluetooth and bluetooth_timer wakelocks take over pretty soon after I turn it on. I think they go away when I turn it back off, but I was able to leave previous phones' BT on all day without this many wakelocks and this much drain.
Just bought a XZ1c and experience the very same problem.
I use an Android Wear smartwatch and Bluetooth headsets so I'm used to keep Bluetooth always on.
I have about 40% battery drain overnight caused by Bluetooth (as shown in the drainers list under battery setting) and the curious thing is that it drains even if my smartwatch is turned off.
Actively using phone or leaving it idle is the same in terms of drain.
This frustrating issue still seems to be ongoing. Has anyone found any sort of information on this?
after my message here i performed a factory reset and BT drain seemed disappeared.
having also an Android Wear device (Huawei Watch) i reset it too and i think BT drain could be related to watch's activity.
after about 3 weeks it appeared again but lasted for couple hours and suddenly disappeared.

Same boring issue there no solution so far
Maybe I'll try a reset then, but it's just such a pain to have to go through...
If you are going to do a reset anyways, I'd suggest that you perform a software repair using Xperia Companion. This will do a clean installation of the latest firmware and will also wipe your internal memory, which is better than a simple factory reset. Don't forget to backup using Xperia Companion, but preferably without adding apps or settings to the backup.
Follow the steps given in blue links, and keep us updated.
Thanks for the heads up on the repair option - it will likely be the weekend before I can go through this but I'll update here once I've gone through the process.
Let me add my two cents. I see on my XZ1C similar issues using my gear s3 smartwatch. I usually have BT activated like on my previously used Z5C but now see a huge battery drain with 15% accuracy left end of the day where BT shows up in the high 20-30%. Since Sunday evening I switched BT off and do have now still 56% left. For the time being I'll go forward with this setting and activate BT just for short synchronization between gear s3 and XZ1C but this is really boring as I don't get now the notification on the watch.
