I'm using XZ and the auto brightness feature is not working properly.
For example,
- I cover the illumination sensor with my hand but the brightness is not darken.
- at that time, I turn off the display and turn it on, the display turn on with the lowest brightness.
- after that, I leave my hand from the illumination sensor, the brightness is increased.
- but I cover the sensor again, the brightness is not darken.
I think this issue happens after the last update(months update for Google security?).
Does this happen in my device only?
Hi.. CameronT
How can I access the safe mode?
Even if I hold the power button, the safe mode option is not available.
Or
Thanks for the information. Fyi, the 1st way to access the safe mode is not avaialble in Nougat(there is no option to select it), so I accessed it with the 2nd way with volume down key.
Anyway I tried to test this issue but it was same.
And I also checked 2 same devices(XZ) of my colleagues and can see this issue.
So, I think this is a bug to control the brightness in real time. Of course, it is not a critical issue but it affect to the battery efficiency.
Can you also see this issue with your device??
I have the same issue but i thought they just changed the way the auto brightness behaves.Def i dont like it this way. I had this issue after the january or February security update
same.
my display not work
I've noticed that on auto brightness the screen light is at lowest from time to time. Even in full daylight....
Adjusting solved it but it has it's own mind..
@kilee & everyone.
There is no issue on the unit we have here. Do you all have screen protcectors/cases on your phones?
My XZ is still on Marshmallow and it has had an auto brightness issue from day one. It is slow to react to light changes, often unlocks to a dim screen, and in certain levels of light it defaults to a dark room setting which is far too dim. The control of the auto brightness feature is poor.
