Hi Everyone, have read numerous posts on this saga of Sony's latest update killing the wireless charging and after updating my Z3, guess what?? It wrecked my phone. After having no issues since purchase, how can one update ruin my life!! The constant dinging noise as I try to wireless charge the phone overnight was a nightmare. Sometimes it would charge, sometimes not, then it started to boil the phone! The temperature and fire risk was ridiculous and very dangerous. I took it to Sony and the "Technicians" told me, "yeah, common problem, needs a new battery etc, just £150 will fix it as warranty had expired!!" Decided to investigate myself as I noticed I now had rapid charge and I mean rapid!! Could charge the phone at an alarming rate and wondered if my phone could not handle it? Finally noticed an occasional App flash up on charge and decided to delete it. App was EZCAST and after deletion, my phone has been perfect!! No dings, no moving the phone around the charging pad, no pushing it down or squeezing it until the little light shows charging!! I place it on the pad and it starts charging!! Amazing technology 😀😀. I suspect it could be any app, that might be playing about with the charging process, so if you suspect an app is drawing power while u charge the phone, delete it and see what happens. The solution is instant and easy to reinstall the app if it does not help. My charging problem was on all wireless charging plates I have and a Speaker with wireless charging on top. Hope this helps.
