Hello,
I am new to this forum and to Sony Xperia phones, although I have had a Sony Ericsson W810i + W595 in the past and found them to be very good phones.
I purchased a slightly used Xperia Z from Ebay for my hubby.
Got it, put sim into, memory card, tried it out. No problems with any of that. Cosmetically the phone looks gorgeous.
But found that whenever we just leave it like on a table or shelf or in the car on the holder (while we are in the car of course), the screen is lighting it's self up and then we're having to touch the side button to dim it and then it does it again. It is switched on when it's doing this but nothing is being done with it. It's not playing music or downloading or anything.
We re-set it back to factory setting but it just started doing it again.
Also the battery life is awful compared to my Galaxy S4. Dare not leave the house without charging it or taking a charger with us in the car.
With just a phone call or brief play on the internet, it drops down about 10%. My hubby isn't one for playing games at 56 yrs old.
Just wondered if anyone has any advice. I've sent it back to the seller and he says he can't see a problem but he'll send it to Vodafone for checking.
We did take it to the Carphone Warehouse who said it shouldn't be lighting up or battery draining that fast.
Thanks very much
If this happens even though you made a master reset and haven't installed any apps there's unfortunately something wrong with the phone.
If it's been sent back to the dealer or a service location they should be able to fix that for you.
to make battery life longer enable stamina mode it will begin on learning mode so it gets use to your usage so it may say 4 days life time on battery but shortly go lower to 2 days or so when it successfully have learned usage of your phone so it can then calculate exactly amount of life it will live for
that way the battery shall not drain as fast since when this is off the background apps may drain battery fast so stamina mode makes sure those apps are disabled when putting phone to sleep so it wont drain the battery fast
