is the back button stuck or did you dropped the phone?

you could try to repair your phone with Update Service and see if that solves the issue

before you repair your phone don't forget to backup everything

Install the Backup & Restore App (it works with the arc, play, neo, etc)

just to play it safe sync your contacts w/ google if you haven't already

open your phonebook

press MENU button -> tap on Send Contacts -> select all -> send it to your email

on your computer

-> download the file -> go to your gmail -> click on contacts -> click on more actions -> on the drop down menu click on "import" -> choose the file -> and click import

if you don't want to use the backup & restore app then

Install "backup SMS" to back up your SMS and MMS to your Gmail

https://market.android.com/details?id=com.zegoggles.smssync&feature=search_result

or your SMS use

"backup & restore SMS"

https://market.android.com/details?id=com.riteshsahu.SMSBackupRestore&feature=search_result

or for your MMS use "Save MMS"

https://market.android.com/details?id=com.schwimmer.android.mmsextract&feature=search_result

one last thing

Don't worry so much about backing up your apps

on your computer go to

market.android.com -> log in -> click on My Library -> and send all your apps to your phone

This could definitely be related to the software on the device so a software update would be the best option as advised by Uliwooly, however before you attempt this does the issue occur only within the File Manager?

So I read this and I was thinking, could be the O button is pressed aswell?

The O button does act as a back button and is located near the back button when the device is closed.

If there would be a hardware defect with the slider or anything else with the opening mechanism, it could be that when he or she presses the back button the screen part presses down on the O and activates it aswell?

(In other words: there is to much pressure so the O button is pressed aswell.)

You can easily test this out by using the back button with the gamepad slided out.

If it behaves normal with the gamepad slided out it may be the problem.

(Seeing the fact most people do not use their file browser with gamepad slided out and you report it only happens sometimes, I tought this could be the problem.)

(I do not hope this is the problem as that would mean your phone has a hardware defect.)

Hope you get it fixed soon! Slightly_smiling_Face
