X10 Power Button Problem

Hey all,

Dont know if anyone else is experienceing this issue but i can no longer use the power button to lock my phone. I cannot even use it to turn the phone off. but if the phone is off i can use it to turn the phone on so i dont see this as being a hardware issue at all. If anyone has experienced this or knows a fix please reply to this thread.

This is very strange, have you tried to run an Update?

I had the same thought mysefl so i have just backed up my phone formatted the sd card (copied to pc before formatting) and reforced the update from SE (latest was the pinch zoom) and still nothing it is as if when the phone turns on i lose power button connectivity.

In this case I can only advise that the handset is looked at by a repair agent. Please return the handset ot the place of purchase so that this may be carried out.

I was so hoping you were not going to say that as i have had my phone repaired before and it took over 2 months to get it back to me. Can i deal directly with SE instead of through the optus dealer

Sorry about that, you should be able to contact your local Sony Ericsson support centre and see if they are able to offer some assistance in this matter. I apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Hi Theph3nom, just trying to help ....

Not sure if this will work for you, anyway, no harm trying. Power off phone, press HOME together with ON/OFF button until it vibrates and boot up.

Another option, from a 'layman's prospective', will exercising the ON/OFF button help (not harm try too)?
