You may want to return to the dealer to see if it is possible to charge another battery in the phone and check any options you may have since you just purchased it.  If that doesn't help, contact your local sony Ericson support to see what can be done.

Hi Martha,

Are you sure that Local Sony Ericsson Support can solve the problem? Because I already send email twice to xperia.id@supportsonyericsson.com about my problem, but they didn't reply anything to me...even I got the reply from xperia.sg@supportsonyericsson.com with the ticket no and ask me to be patient to get the problem solving for my case. I don't know whether they are exist in Indonesia....???

ask the person who sells you for another battery to try. If it still does not charge, either ask him/her to change a new one for you or go to the SE service centre ans request a repair.

Hi there, don't waste to time trying to fix this problem yourself, my X10 did the same thing, it was sent off for repair and they sent me a new phone.  And guess what?  I have got up this morning and once again it will not charge - so it's back to T-Mobile AGAIN for me today. This is now the second time in 4 months!  I cannot wait for this contract to expire. I did not drop mine either.  The first time this happened I tried charging it in car, house, on pc, at the store and on someone else's charger.  Do not waste days and petrol, as I did doing stuff like that. It probably needs a major repair.

Wow...that's mean Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 has poor quality on this product eventhought Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 has the best technology on smartphone. Why Authorized Service Center Sony Ericsson in Jakarta still claim that is human error on usage and void my warantty because of that? I need explanation about this matter and need problem solving from Sony Ericsson International, because I don't believe anymore with Local Authorized Service Center Sony Service Center in Jakarta - Indonesia.

Now please don't jump to conclusion. It could easily be the user's handling issues.

I, for one, have not had any problem with the battery performance, the battery itself, charging, call volume, wifi connection, etc.

So how can it be of poor build quality? Unless different batches are built at different factories, that could then become an issue.

Latest update. Took my phone to two stores, staff charged my battery in the demo handset using my charger.  Battery charged no problem and powered my handset no problems.   Staff attempted to charge battery in my handset - nothing happened.  Their conclusion the handset is not recognising the charger and should be once again sent off for repair.  I phoned their customer service department, explained what had happened and was immediately offered a new handset which will be with me by courier on Wednesday.  This will be my third handset.  I am in no doubt that my ability to insert charger into a phone and the electricity supply is faultless.  As is the way I care for my precious phone - it is treated with the utmost respect.    I have no qualms about the function of the phone itself WHEN it is fully operational, I am simply pointing out this problem has happened to me twice and it is unacceptable given the short duration with which I have owned said phone(s).

In that case, you were just being (un)lucky. Twice in a row, too! Or it could be a more serious problem with the batch of X10i they, the people you got the phone from, have.

I'm having the same problem now.

I normally charge it overnight while I sleep. This morning my alarm didn't go off...and my phone is appearing to be out of battery, even though it was connected to the AC charger the entire night as normal. I've had it only just over a month. NOT HAPPY.

I have rang SE and they have told me I have to take it to Virgin, who will have to send it away if it needs to get fixed. How annoying!!!

How are everyone's outcomes? I do hope it's just the battery, but I'm disappointed.
