Hi.
Facing problem when trying to detect wireless connection
When i connect internet to my laptop using LAN cable and share out through wireless using "Connectify"
BUT, my Arc S unable to detect the SSID (wireless name) created from my laptop.
I have Windows 7 in my PC.
Please help !
do other devices detect the wlan from connectify?
yes, iphone 4 is getting easily connected without any problem...
No problems here with the same kind of connection...
try to perform a settings reset .
if still not working try a software repair using this www.sonymobile.com/global-en/tools/update-service/
please back up important data
It's probably due to that connectify shares the connection as ad-hoc which is not supported by your phone. Check if you're able to share the connection as host instead. That would work.
I have installed WiFi Manager and now i am able to locate the WiFi network.. Channel 11 but it is not connetcting...
Yes. i have the same problem. you could make an infrastructure with windows 7's virtual miniport. thats easy. run the Command prompt as administrator, then first type this :
netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=yourSSID key=yourPASSWORD
then hit the Enter, and then type this:
netsh wlan start hostednetwork
hit enter and you have a network that can be found and connected to arc s. dont forget to enable internet sharing in your LAN adapter.
bad news is, the connection keeps dropping and i dont khow how to fix it
its kinda funny, i had a sony ericsson Hazel, it could connect to a ad-hoc network, but now i have a Xperia arc s than wont connect to ad-hoc.even with android 4. I dont know why they call it a smart phone, it is smart, but some times its dumber than my calculator
