from what I can tell the Aino has an extremely weak radio for Wifi...I took all security off my home network...allowing anyone to connect to it (as I was getting the same problems with 'out of range' etc, but couldn't remember exactly what my wep key was)...and i get 'out of range' sometimes from just a few feet away...where as my laptop can receive it from down the street...sometimes it works fine, but sometimes not at all...i usually have to put the phone on a coffee table to connect...and never hold it...if I pick it up or move it, it drops the network...pretty frustrating....
I know thats not much of an answer...but i've yet to find a phone that is actually great with wifi anyway...so I can't say i'm really surprised...
other things too is make sure you have bluetooth off when doing this...the latest firmware was said to 'help' with the 2.4ghz problem (as wifi and bt both use the same frequency, and usually interfere with each other)...but from what I can tell it didn't do much, if anything...
