USB device not recognised!!!

whenever i connect my w705 to my Laptop, windows cant recognise it

Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)

Please help

i followed the instructions too, But nothing happens.

Which Windows OS do you have and in which USB mode are you connecting the phone to the laptop with?

Have you tried connecting the phone to your laptop via PC suite in phone mode?

Hi there, if you are just looking to transfer files you can select on your phone Settings > USB > Set Default mode > USB mem device. If you need the phone to stay in phone mode (for synchronising/backup with PC Suite) I would recommend trying another USB port, if you are using a USB hub please plug the phone directly into your PC.

You also have the option of connecting with PC Suite via bluetooth

As per the comment left by Dr_Chris, have you tried using the PC Suite software on your PC? When you download this, it also downloads the drivers you require to connect your handset correctly. You can download this here: www.sonyericsson.com/cws/support/softwaredownloads/detailed/pcsuite/w705

If you still have problems, please could you let us know what you would like to connect your handset for? Is it for file transfer?
