URGENT HELP NEEDED! Phone won't shut down

I'm trying to shut down my xperia P phone and its just hanging on the shut down screen and won't turn off and I cant get back into the home screen, any ideas how I can get the phone shut down?

Press and hold Power Button and Volume Up button at the same time

5 Seconds > Restart Phone

10 Seconds > Shutdown Phone
