As Sony customers who don't have a Service Center close to home or that don't want to go through the whole process of taking the phone to a center where representatives don't have a clue of our touchscreen problem, Why in the world Sony doesn't make an online patch available to us, its dissapointed and angry customers?
it might be a hardware issue

Yes there has been some reports regarding touch screen issues on Tipo dual and we've taken these complaints further. From what I've understand there's also been a fix implemented so the service centers can fix this for the ones affected.
This is just a mild software glitch. You could download the calibration app online to calibrate the touchscreen. This could help you. http://www.josephcs.com/blog/fix-android-touchscreen-issues/
This thread is pretty old though, but might help people who have the same issue.
