Firstly this phone lost ALL my 103 photo's with sentimental value. These were not saved on pc as I was having difficulties getting a USB cable with "Sony Ericsson" type attachment at other end. Can't think of any reason - not dropped or wet etc- for it to do this.
Next the volume on calls becomes very low on incoming and outgoing calls. I know how to change ringtone volume and tried this to see if it affected call volume. It didn't.
Called O2 help- can't get pics back. Try wiping sim card on a soft cloth and then putting it back. Didn't help with volume.
Tried a few other things eg asking in shops selling mobiles, even considered buying a new phone but out of work for ages and broke.
Phone froze on a page. Attached to pc, let it get fully charged (was 50%) and then I could turn phone off and try to update the softwear.
Downloaded SE's PC Companion and Update Service. Installed Update service onto phone which has cured odd faults (not all mentioned above) but not the volume in making and receiving calls (or retrieved the pics of course).
HELP - I'm out of ideas and patience
Try a master reset and see if that helps with the volume issue.
I have tried a master reset before but gave it another go. First just settings then all master re set. Neither solved the volume problem. In fact now I can't get ringtones to play (again!) when I have the ringtone file open and work down it to see which ringtone I like the sound of. Had a few friends make in/outgoing calls to see how they found the volume. All say low so I'm not deaf! I tried calling voicemail too and this was far too low a volume. I have profile set as "outdoors" giving volume 8 the maximum.
PLEASE HELP
Well if re-installing the software and a master reset fail to solve the problem, then it needs to be repaired at a service centre.
In reality that means buy a new phone doesn't it? I've had this T303 for just over two years so it is probably considered obsolete by now. It is certainly out of warrenty. It is on O2 pay and go. Got over £20 credit on phone sim. I've not worked for a few years, so am just looking for a CHEAP phone with a camera that I can put my exsisting sim into.
