Hi ron30, welcome to the community!
Follow uliwooly's advice & if that doesn't help please contact Sony Xperia Customer Care in your region - you can find their details by clicking the link in my signature.
I have had the same problem on my Z3 compact. Power button does not work. I used the "Double tapping the screen" option to by pass this..... then i forgot to charge it in time, rendering the phone useless. I carried out all the advice from this post, including others ie. reset button for 120 seconds, all failed to get my phone back on.
I fixed this issue by using XPERIA COMPANION, pluged the phone into the computer and opted for a software repair. The computer goes through the motions, then it turns the phone on, remember to unplug the lead. I can only assume to complete this repair, it starts your phoneup. Boom, back in business.
However, please note. The software repair warns to delete all data on your phone and setting it back to factory reset. So if you go ahead with this option, dont go anywhere ie. the pub, kebab shop (for you special people, the gym or Gooey Goo's smoothie bar), or you wont be able to unplug in time. I hold no responcability for your data getting lost as this is advice only.
