Hey! Good to know that Sony has finally released an update for Xperia C. This was really bugging me that the fon is left unattended with bugs all this time. Kudos Sony!
I am from India. I checked for update from my phone, cant see any update versions available as yet.
Those who updated it, please help me where to find it, is it throught hte pc companion software ?
also... are the problems solved by the new update? namely battery drain, proximity issues, home page apps disappearing etc ... please update me with this Thanks again
yes, you need to connect your phone to PC and then update it through sony companion...i am doing it now
Hello,
I'm a Xperia C user which has been a few other Sony and Sony Ericsson devices before. Most of those devices was discontinued with updates and I think that we will see the same with this phone (Xperia C) as it has been happening before and will happen again.
Why aren't they updating this device may you ask? Well, the reason is that it's a cheaper device and they focus on their more expensive devices other than trying to make all of the devices work good and keep them up to date with the latest Android version. Usually they say something like:
"This device didn't work very well with that Android version and we have decided to not update this device"
and that pretty much means that they have done it to save time and money, but screwed us users over once again.
There hasn't been a single update to this device and it seem's like Sony is ignoring all the bugs which we have encountered with this phone, also another thing which cripples this device is the locked bootloader. The bootloader on other mediatek devices with the same board is unlocked, but Sony have blocked the fastboot functionality
The worst part is that this device is so new and the fact that there has been zero updates made for it, which also can be confirmed by looking at the PCRBT page:

People, stand up against Sony, you bought this phone and it's your responsibility as a customer to make complains about Sony, and it's Sony's responsibility to listen to their customers and make their pruducts up to date by providing updates, spread the word!

Hello,
as you might know this device hasn't been listed on the 4.4 or 4.3 update page and I'm really annoyed by that as this is a quite new device and now comes my question, will this device even receive a newer Android version or will they leave us on a old outdated version like with most other Xperia devices?
I'm vert dissapointed by Sony that they aren't putting enough time into updating their devices and just pushes out new ones all the time, and I really regret afterwards that I bought this device because of the outdated software in it.
Well, may I get a answer from a official Sony employee on this as I want to know exactly if this device will receive the update to 4.4 or 4.3 atleast.
Atleast allow us to unlock the bootloader so that we can do the work for you by making custom roms, as the locked bootloader cripples the developer support... Other devices with this System On a Chip has unlocked bootloader out of the box, but Sony have modified it to not support bootloader unlock or fastboot mode.
