HI All,
It appears I cannot send messages over 160 characters. Does anyone have the same problem? I am hearing things about bugs in the Andriod 2.1 update. I have tried differeent SMS products on the market such as Go SMS but I am getting the same issues.
Can anyone help?
Thanks all
I did noticed that handcent does that (which is pretty useful thanks) and i did mentioned above that the x10 by default doesn't have the option, what i was trying to say though is that even if you go over the 160 characters long it wont automatically convert the SMS into a MMS.
Ps.. On that picture i don't see that it say that it converts the sms to MMS automatically once you typed in more than 160 characters which is the point i was trying to explain. But that is really useful thanks for the info.
It does not say it because it is implied. Do you hang a sign in your bathroom telling people to open the toilet lid before using it??? No. It is implied lol
Then again it clearly said "Automatically split SMS when its length exceeds 160 characters" it doesn't say "it converts messages over 160 characters into MMS. I would like you to try it on your phone, send a message over 160 characters (your phone should send then 2 messages or more depending on the amount of characters you typed), and let me know if the messages sent are just SMS or MMS. If you can do it and let me know.
And when I sent it I got a pop-up that said "converting to MMS" I tried to get a screengrab, but it goes away so quickly
I'm really sorry lightyear0420 that i keep posting back like if im trying to go against of what you are saying (it is not the case) but what i am trying to say is that, Handcent is a "custom app" and by default the stock system on the phone won't convert the sms to MMS when you typed in more than 160 characters, I am not trying to go against you in anyway, but i looked on the Internet and i did not see a phone (looked other brands) that does that automatically if not using a "custom app".
How many SMS before it convert to MMS? Because mine after 20 sms, it converted to 1 MMS (this is justifyable, who wants to receive 20 chopped sms anyway?)
Anyway, Im using SE's default keyboard to replicate this scenario.
with handcent, 2 sms = 1 mms
Wow.. that a costly keyboard
With Xperia x2, it doesn't convert SMS to MMS.. I got tired of cutting and pasting using x2 and still SMS.
With Xperia x10 using SE default keyboard, 20 SMS before it convert to MMS..
do you guy know how to input chinese into sms?
