Silent mode or Vibrate mode problem

so right now i am in ICS but when i hold the power button and select silent mode or vibrate the phone still rings when someone text or call me..but when i just press the volume button down to vibrate or silent button it works.. anyone had the same problem?...

When you select the options from the power button method do the icons next to the signal bar change to show this selection? Could you also confirm which model of phone you are using.

yah icons change when i do that even it is turned to silent mode the phone still rings...I am using Xperia Go/Sony ST27i..

I would suggest a software repair on the phone. This can be done via the PC Companion.

Hi,

I am having Xperia V. I guess when i upgraded to latest firmware for Jelly Bean only after that I am now experiencing this problem.

When i set my phone either to Vibrate/Ring, it still receives the call and rings with full volume which i very irritating. The very purpose of Silent/Vibrate is spoilt. I am very annoyed in my meeting room, etc

Sony, u told we can do by software repair using software companion. Please describe in detail or please provide a solution ASAP.

I too, have the same problem. plus, the 3 main keys (back, home, and options) arent so responsive. I sometimes had to touch it again and again to respond. My phone is Xperia SL
