Setting wallpaper

Is it possible to set a wallpaper without cropping it? I have 320x240 pictures on my phone, but when I set one as wallpaper, it crops it horizontally and then appears on my screen vertically, huge and blurry I re-sized one to 320 wide, like someone suggested to someone else, but that still had to be cropped. I tried on 480 long (my pics aren't 480x320 ratio) and that was the same. Why do they have to cropped?

I have a suggestion

1) open any picture and edit it, crop it so it will fit as a wallpaper, save it on your SD card, transfer it to your computer

2) on your computer open it with Paint -> check the size of the picture, open another picture w/ paint and make sure is the same size as the other, transfer it back to your phone and set it as wallpaper

What dimensions do the pics have to be to set them as wallpaper? If I knew that, I could set my pics as that dimension and put them on my phone so I could use any of them as wallpaper. I don'tknow how to view the dimensions of the wallpapers already on the phone.

the best solution is to crop the pictures and then transfer them from your phone to your computer and open them with Paint

And why does it zoom in so much when you have set it as wallpaper?

I tried a photo horizontally on my phone so that the crop square juat about covered it in the right direction, but it still ended up zoomed right in.
