Screen not turn on when received msg

The phone screen not turn on when received msg is it suppose to happen?

That indeed its supposed to happen ... but on an iphone not an Xperia phone.

Android has a notification LED which should flash when you get a message and / or notification, if you MUST have iphone like notifications
