RAM Issue/Problem

When I go to Setting -> Apps

- I do see my Acro S have just around 600MB RAM all in total include utilize and free RAM.

- My phone is running very slow dud to lacking of RAM.

What is happening about the missing of RAM?

Acro S should have 1 GB of RAM, even if taking the count of using 1000 MB to convert it by using 1024, it should have at least 800MB+

The parameters shown only show what amount of RAM you have left and is able to use for you as a user. What it doesn't show though is the RAM used by the OS in the phone, and there for it might look a little bit strange. Hope that clear things out a bit! Slightly_smiling_Face

but why my friend that using S2 with ICS 4.0.4 which same with mine got total of RAM around 800MB+? I think by using same ICS version, it should be almost same... my acro S seems like running slow now...

Since it's a phone from a completely different producer I can't say how it works and/or how they have developed the OS running in their phone, even though it's also based on Android. We have the Sony UX and Samsung has TouchWiz (correct?) and there are, of course, differences. Slightly_smiling_Face

Its not recommended to disable those apps.

Closing system apps will force them to rerun thus consuming more battery.
Close only user apps such as games.

You can disable some apps in settings > apps > all by click an app.
But a lot system apps are not able to be disabled.

For that, u need root and use titanium backup to freeze them.

Disable means  preventing them from running no matter what happens.

List of safe apps to be closed:

google apps (gtalk, g+, gmail, playstore, youtube)

smart connect
picotts, voice dialer, voice search (voice apps)

update service/centre
user apps (games, social apps)
recommender
walkman

etc (judge by their name)

Pleae help.

I have closed all apps before going to the part where you could see all the running apps in your phone and here's what I have:

Settings                    32 mb

Smartcard Service      3.5 mb

Google Services          8.1 mb

Contacts                    9.3 mb

com.sonyerricson.wappush     3.3 mb

Facebook                    21 mb

usbotg                         3.5 mb

Xperia Keyboard          13 mb

RAM: 586 mb used; 48 mb free

I also checked Cached processes and saw Xperia Home @ 24 mb.

But if you count those apps that are running, it will be just 93.7 mb, why is that?

What causes this?

TIA.

I found it usefull to restart the phone time to time, if I use it just like a phone, I get 20-30 % available ram, while some apps running in background, but if one day I open some apps, search internet and when ram gets closer to 10% I use task killer app to quick boost, but that doesnt help for long time, even if I dont use it after, in 10 minutes ram goes down to 10% again and there is no more tasks to kill, killing tasks from settings>apps does the same effect and it takes much longer,.so what I do is shut down the phone and start again,

Cant you make sony task killer optimized for sony? something like samsung has to quick boost memory?
