"Camera not available"

It all started when I downloaded Calorie Counter by FatSecret, I have only had my phone for less than a week, and I just started logging my info onto Calorie Counter yesterday and I didn't have any problems. Today I went to use the Barcode Scan, and the application went black and shut down on me? So I tried it again, the app opened, and when I tapped Barcode Scan again, this time a little pop up appeared saying something like:

The application Calorie Counter has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.

Now when I exit the program and try to take a regular picture, I get a pop up saying "Camera not available"

Any help would be appreciated.

EDITED: I have a big x10

Uninstall the app and try the camera and if that doesn't work update the phone using Sony Ericsson Update Service.

Have you deleted the calorie counter to see if that clears up your problems?

You can access the test menu from the unlock screen, don't swipe up to unlock, press Menu Back Back Menu Back Menu Menu Back then select service tests and scroll down to and tap on the camera just to check its working ok.

A repair/reset via Sony Ericsson Update Service downloadable from the support section of their website may be in order.  It will delete info from your phone so make sure your contacts are backed up either by sync or export them to SD card.  If you have the Backup and Restore function give that a go too.  You may have to reinstall apps from the market.

as KrazyD says, try uninstalling the app first. A restart of the phone after this may cure it as well. I had a similar problem with another app and found that the restart solved my probs. I never put the app that gave me the trouble back on my phone after that!

just restart the phone and it should be fine after that

I think that when more than one app tries to access the camera it confuses the hardware.
