Question regarding x8

Hi guys,

Is it possible for me to force my x8 (Android 1.6) to check for emails by a certain interval (Both my Gmail and my mails in the mail application - the default mail application)

If so, how?

At the moment i'm forced to click "update" everytime I need to check for new emails - and that is pretty bad for me.

Been looking around in the phone and i'm not able to find anything.

I use an app called K-9 mail which allows you to set up the frequency of mail polling and allows you to set up your own notification for mail delivery too.  The other one that I have heard recommended is Maildroid, both of which are free from the android market so you could give them a go.

somehow my phone can't connect to  android market/ facebook / even setup a google account .. although the browser is working pretty well and i can connect to any webpage through the phone inbuilt browser .. someone plz help ..
