On running quadrant benchmark, my xperia Z showd tht its running on msm8960 chipset, which is older than apq n mdm shown in white paper n Sony website. IS quadrant benchmark correct? Anyone else facing the same problem?
CPU/RAM/DEVICE
Can someone from Sony answer this?
I have just run "Quadrant Standard" and "Android System Info" on my C6603. Both apps say that Board is MSM8960.
It's clearly an error. When you run CPU/RAM/DEVICE app, it clearly shows FOUR CORES.
MSM8960 is only DUAL CORE. It's a mistake and it's a APQ8064 inside. Nothing wrong at all.
Thts wht keeps me wondering, 8960 is a usually dual core and apq8064 is quad, plus my Z has an antutu score that beats nexus 4, running s4 pro. But 3 diffrent apps showing msm8960, doesnt seem like an error to me.
You guys do realise that this information shown on the benchmark apps, comes from their own database. They do not get the information from the phones directly. That's y you receive different info when using different benchmark tool. The only reliable informationis the model number(which they then fetch other details from their database), and the benchmark results.
In my opinion it may be only benchmark issue.
I couldn't imagine if for example it would be true and somebody proove it 😕
It would ruin Sony reputation and drasticly lower the sell.
This is why I assume it is error only - still we can ask developers of these applicayions, right?
if you go to first page 1/8 in that app you will find CPU Type: Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 APQ8064 x4 which is the quad core cpu model so one your viewing is motherboard i guess and not cpu.
http://www.qualcomm.com/snapdragon/processors/s4/specs goun through this website, only s4 pro is powerful enough to run Xperia Z, so i guess These apps have the wrong info on chipset in Z.
S4 Pro:
"Up to 1.7 GHz Dual or Quad Krait CPU"
ohh ohh 😕
