Problems with Xperia P

HI all,

I am facing some really nasty problems with my handset. It works fine for 2 days. next morning it suddenly freezes at the lock screen and turns off and remains off for almost a day.I turned myself up-side down but the phone, it doesn't start at all.Only the light in the transperent strip remains on.I tried to finally turn it on d next day and caught myself in another issue.This time it doesn't detect the sim card :smileyplain:,so no calls no internet. I removed and inserted the card again but of no use.So i turned it off and thats it. Now again same problem of not starting.!!!:smileyangry:

I dont understand whats wrong and y is it behaving like this.:smileysad: Pls help me out.

Please try running an update/repair as a first potential fix:

1. Before you start you have to download the PC Companion software from http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/pc-companion/

and install it on your PC.

2. Once installed on your PC, double-click the PC Companion icon on your desktop to start the update.

Note! For some models you will be prompted to do a backup prior to the update and then restore.

3. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.

4. Phone Software Update.

5. Start.

6. Repair Phone

7. Continue

8. Accept data removal

9. Next

10. Wait for prepare

11. Select Phone

12. Follow the connection steps

can it be repaired in the off mode? i mean its not turning on so can it still be repaired via pc companion?

Yes it most certainly can. Just please follow the steps above and do not connect the phone till it tells you and how it tells you to do so.

Hi,

I have cut my original sim into micro sim and inserted it instead of a new micro sim. Does this pose a problem in its functionality.?

If you cut it the right way,it should not be any problem,but i recommend people to go to their network provider and let them change the sim with a micro sim.
