Problems using head phones on Xperia tablet

Whenever I plug in head phones and run any music or videos the sounds comes out through the device speakers. I have to press play first then plug in the head phones otherwise the tablet won't recognize that the head phones are plugged in.

Just checked mine. Doesnt matter whether headphones in first, or music playing first. Mine works correct.

Ive tried two different head phones . What began as an intermittent problem is now a completely dead headphone port..

I have same problem!!!  how much time for patch to fix this 4.2.2 problem!?

Having the same problem here. Nothing works to get the headphone jack working. When is there a fix for this because this is annoying!

Found a temporaly work-around for this issue. Just download this app and place their widget on your homescreen:

Everytime you need the headphone,  you can switch it on and off with this widget.
