Phone display flickering

Hi guys,

just got a new neo v and am facing 2 issues.

1. the phone display flickers when on the low brightness mode.. it seems like its sensing the ambient light and recalibrating itself.

how can i fix this.

2. the left panel is lose. i noticed the same issue on a other phone as well. is this a known issue??

3. and again the 3d image capture is a pain in the a** is there any fix for that.

This is not an answer!

1. The SE Xperia flickering screen is a known fault. See http://talk.sonyericsson.com/message/73109#73109 . Last SE response was in May with no fix yet. Time to buy a Samsung?

2. Don't know - not a problem on my Neo (non V).

3. Haven't tried 3D.

1) yes it is a software issue, the ambient light sensor doesn't work with the Arc, yeah the flagship phone Dizzy_Face

2) it might be a faulty unit

3) its not as good as it should be and the compressed results are well not great

how can a panoramic picture be only 300kb?

Concerning 3: Is it a pain to USE or a pain in (as uliwooly said) terms of quality.

both the quality it's not as great as it should be, and it's a pain to use Dizzy_Face

The auto-brightness DOES work.

I've noticed flickering when you are in a dimly lit room with a light-source in one corner. I reckon the flickering could be caused because you are not holding the phone still and are inadvertently pointing the light sensor towards and then away from the light source in your room. Perhaps, indeed the 50Hz/60Hz flicker of a fluorescent lightbulb does affect it too.

I like the auto-brightness feature, and think that the default auto-brightness settings match the ambient lighting very well - much better than having to adjust manually. Perhaps though,SE could adjust the auto-brightness algorithm to detect when the phone is not being held still, or detect 50/60Hz lightbulb flicker (if the cause), or make any brightness change happen so gradually so that a flicker isn't noticable.

Or better, give the user an option to select fast/slow/off for the auto-brightness. The same for the camera, let us select high/medium/low compression and high/medium/none sharpening. These are our phones, not yours, Sony.

We don't need 3D, just the basic features to optimize your good hardware.
