pattern lock + loss of data

Hi there - my daughter has locked herself out for 2nd time. First time unlocked using pc companion and update etc, which worked but she lost all her data. Now have tried gmail/ googlemail - still won't let her in. Also tried entering   null   into password.... still didn't work.

She is distraught :{ . Is there ANY way of unlocking this f******* phone without losing all data and having to start from scratch??????????????????????

Any help gratefully received...

I fear that there is no other way.  But I sincerely hope someone will be able to contradict me.

Has your daughter made regular back-ups of her phone?  If so, that will make the loss of data a little easier to bear.  If not, the only things I can suggest is that she does so in future, and that she takes off the pattern lock for good, unless she really needs to secure it in that way.

Its of no help I know but the reason I don't use the pattern lock on my phone is because of the blooming drama my son caused getting himself locked out of his. I agree with Sushi, I don't think there is anyway to do it. I do sympathise hugely.  The old style pin number never used to cause this many problems, sometimes progress is not actually a movement forward.

Hear, hear...

I don't suppose the market has some sort of app that uses a PIN to lock and unlock the screen, in place of the dreaded pattern lock?

Thanks for all your input everyone - looks like she will have to start from scratch:0(    Not looking forward to relaying THAT news - heavy hormone storm warning.... Would have thought s.e. could sort that out especially as so many people affected. Wish me luck!

Many thanks again and have a good w/e.
