Otg problem for Xperia P

When ever I conect a Pendrive to my Xperia P using otg cable,I can see only light blinking on the Pendrive but the device connection is not shown in notification bar.I want to know that where the Pendrive memory(external memory) is shown in File manager so that I can use the data in the Pendrive.

Well, if it's working as it should, you should get a notification saying "USB memory connected". If it doesn't, the cable/pendrive might not be working properly or are not compatible with the phone. Tried myself with a LiveDock and a pendrive and it worked just fine.

Actually I tried what u have said but its not working for my Xperia P but the same cable(otg) when it is connected other samsung galaxy phone its working.So I think there might be some software problem regarding my Xperia P.

        Do we require any other software for this purpose?

Not really, might just be the cable that's not compatible with this phone. Which software are you running in your phone?
