OTA firmware update

Hi, my X10 has a broken USB connector.

unfortunately I lost the invoice, so the local SE repair center refuse to fix it---

2 question:

1- si true that invoice is needed?

Whi IMEI isnt enough?

2- Any way or hope to load OS update OTA (over the air?)

I dont know why one need USB for tnat..

Loading OS on SD card or using OTA can permit easier update even for device whitout broken USB

I have exactly the same issue. Really do not know what to do anymore.

I totally agree. This is really making me mad because I know 2.1 is out there but I'm stuck on 1.6 !!!

I can send the phone to SE but will be without a phone for who knows how long.

Will let you know if I find an alternative way.

Unfortunately, I don't think that there is any way of doing the big updates using OTA. Did you buy the phone through a mobile phone provider?  If so, you might have some luck with them without a receipt.  Or if you paid using a credit card, can you prove when you bought it and see if that would be enough...?
