I recently had to format my W995 as it was getting sluggish. I had to flash it with SEUS and it works well now. My only issue is that Opera Mini 5 (and the versions before that i.e. 4.2) simply doesn't work over wifi. It now only works using my 3G connection. It used to work perfectly fine before flashing. The Netfront browser does work over wifi and I've even manually entered the IP address, DNS, Gateway etc.
Any ideas on where I'm going wrong? Local connections are enabled and other programs can connect over wifi.
I've even cleared out the AMS folder but that too didn't prove effective. I downloaded UCBrowser and that does work over wifi but I prefer Opera Mini's clean looks to it.
I've tried downloading Opera Mini multiple times but it doesn't seem to work. I even downloaded the .jad and .jar file and sent it to my phone and installed it via the .jad file. It doesn't seem to make a difference. I'm stumped!
Cheers!
Try re-running SEUS and/or "repair phone" via PC suite.Failing that, perform a master reset.
Have done it all. For some reason, the problem is only with Opera Mini. Like I've mentioned earlier, another web browser namely UCWeb seems to work just fine and that's what's got me stumped. Other 3rd party apps work as well.
That is indeed strange as I also have a W995 and both versions of Opera mini work fine over WiFi.The only thing I can suggest is delete all the installed versions of Opera on your phone and re-install them, either from the .jar file or directly from the internet.Have you tried moving the application to the phone from the memory card or vice versa, or between the Games and Application folders? Also check that both the Permissions and Internet setings for the Opera app.(from options when you highlight it) are both set to Default.
