OK guys, here's the deal
I rooted my phone a few days ago to remove all the useless apps that the phone comes with. I basically got ride of a code reader, some stupid games, and a bunch of "trial version" applications.
I just noticed now that I can't download apps from the Android Market anymore, and this is probably what caused it. Everything else on my phone still works perfectly.
When I try to download an app from the Android Market, I select the app to be downloaded, press "Install", then press "OK" when it gives me the list of what the app has access to. Once I press "OK" a popup appears that says "Your Item Will be Downloaded". That's it. Nothing appears in the notification bar, and the download doesn't go at all.
So I guess my question is... what would I have deleted to cause this problem? I unrooted my phone again since. Maybe a google app or something? And if so, I need the APK for it!
Yeah, yeah I was an idiot, I know. Don't mention it.
Here's what I've tried so far after searching this issue:
- Cleared the cache and updates for all Google-related apps
- Restarted phone
Thanks
Dirk
What if that makes things worse
I do not think that it will make anything worse. You are just reinstalling the application. It’s up to you to do it or not.
or maybe just wait for Android 2.1
Ya but Android Market is a google stuff. I won't be affected by a SE update.
No dice.
Still stuck on "Starting download"
I tried to uninstall Market updates. No luck
I tried to do a software update. No luck.
Any ideas? I think I'll try download an Android Market APK and then try installing that.

I notice the SE website has version 2.10.11.10 software update, will this update fix this problem?
That sounds like the android update. can you post a link? I can't see it on the mainsite.
I just thought, it's probably not available everywhere yet.
Oh that's the update service. When i saw the 2.10 i thought it was Android!
Guess it's in prep for the 2.1 update.
