My X10 Mini Can't Download Apps from the Android Market

OK guys, here's the deal

I rooted my phone a few days ago to remove all the useless apps that the phone comes with. I basically got ride of a code reader, some stupid games, and a bunch of "trial version" applications.

I just noticed now that I can't download apps from the Android Market anymore, and this is probably what caused it. Everything else on my phone still works perfectly.

When I try to download an app from the Android Market, I select the app to be downloaded, press "Install", then press "OK" when it gives me the list of what the app has access to.  Once I press "OK" a popup appears that says "Your Item Will be Downloaded". That's it. Nothing appears in the notification bar, and the download doesn't go at all.

So I guess my question is... what would I have deleted to cause this problem? I unrooted my phone again since. Maybe a google app or something? And if so, I need the APK for it!

Yeah, yeah I was an idiot, I know. Don't mention it.

Here's what I've tried so far after searching this issue:

- Cleared the cache and updates for all Google-related apps

- Restarted phone

I had the same problem 2, that solution was great! 10/10 can now download new games!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After searching for hours without finding a solution I more or less by accident tried to use the Android Marked while connected to the internet through Wi-Fi and it worked! I could do all the normal things in the Android Marked. Switching Wi-Fi off again resulted in the same 'downloading application' forever problem.

yes i got dat error mesage.and i unistall mrket updatews frm application manager as ur advice.but nw i cant open even market...its just serching

nw wen i tap on mareket a white screen came n on d top a mesege 'android market terms of srvice ' in d midile loading...n after sometimes a mesege attention an error has occurred plss try again later.

my wifi conection and gprs conection is perfect

I had similar Problem but with my X10 mini all it was was my google account which was causing the applications not to work. thing is i realised this after not backing up certain data IE my progress on Angry Birds ... never mind all good now..

just go to Google mail on Home PC or Lappy.

and you should see a link to change your email to Gmail..

cant believe it was this simple thing which caused me so much hassle .. not as much hassle as the update itself did.

just a bit of warning from Google mail or SE would of been nice.
