Hello there,
I was wondering is somebody could help me with my problem..
I updated my Xperia P to android 4.1.2 today. And it was all working fine.
but now suddenly my Iphone Earplugs don't work anymore.. Is there a way to fix this?
Because i've always used these apple iphone earplugs. and i never had problems with it.
Now it just acts as if it's not even plugged in. (playing the music through speakers)
I hope someone can help me! I miss listening to music..
It's big BUG and ISSUE that headphones dedicated to Iphone does not work with XPERIA P. I have Denon AH-C101 and it doesnt work with my Xperia P. When I connect hedphones i see: Device is not supported or mic and button not available- sound is through speakers... Other phones does not have that problem! Xperia T, all HTC when Iphon headset is connected works ok (mic works, one buttom works, only +/- sound doesnt work)....
Solution for You jochio- Try this: when inserting minijack to Xperia hold on one of headphones buttom a few seconds... it should work- without mic only as headphones.... (my Denon works).
It's veeery annoing to do it all the time, everytime when you connecting headset to Xperia P. I understand that my headphones are dedicated to Apple but another android phones can work with headset for iOS.
Sony please resolve that problem if possible by software....
the Xperia P should be compatible with iphone's headphones in theory as both iphones and 2012 and 2013 xperias use CTIA
Ok I understand that headphone remote control and mic may not work with Xperia P (but in other phones works, not fully button functions but works also with mic). But when you connecting headphones with CTIA standard (and Xperia P says "the accessory's microphone and buttons are not available") it should work as normal hedphones without mic or buttons.
I think it's may be resolved by software... when Xperia P have problem with mic or buttons should activate only minijack pins for LEFT/RIGHT/GROUND headphone (insted of all 4 pins- without mic) and work like headphones without mic.
Why CTIA standard doesn't work with Sony Xperia? Some says:
Xperia supplies 2V purely from an energy consumption perspective. The microphone in the bundled Sony Mobile headset is Electret microphones that only require a 2V feed. Other suppliers (for example, iPhone headsets) use microphones that require a minimum of 2,7V.
So Xperia has CTIA standard but... all headset made for Iphone (85% market, all good products) will not work... very very sad...
