To get Chinese input, go to write a text message, press and hold the area where you enter text and 'input method' should appear on the screen. Tap that and you can then select whichever keyboards you have on your phone. Mine has Chinese, Japanese and Korean in addition to English. As you know, I think, the precise way in which you enter Chinese can be adjusted in the settings. Hope this answers your question.
