I did not know thta wifi direct was a problem in xperia range, but now and despite any answers comment, I think it is a lie to say that xperia T has "wifidirect".....

Enable Wi-Fi direct under settings. Go to the content you would like to share and press the share button. Chose the OfficeSuite Wi-Fi direct option and select to what device you would like to send the content.

I just tested between two Xperia T's and it worked just fine.

I also have this problem between my Vaio and Xperia T. I connected them by using vaio smart network and after it says they are connected i cant do anything.

Going to share doesnt give me any options for wifi and not even the officesuite one.

Help please.

I have exactly the same problem - it says that I am connected to a device, but that is as far as it goes.

Maybe this only works between Sony products. It doesn't work between my Xperia T and a Galaxy (Samsung), or my PC (Dell), for example.

It is so annoying. I am using the Xperia T with Vaio Z. So they are both Sony. I dont know what the problem is :S..

Ok I tried this.

I went to settings, enabled wifi direct (it said 'this will turn off Wi-Fi client /hotspot operation' - no idea what that means, but I enabled it anyway)

There is now a blue tick next to Wi-Fi Direct.

I go to my album, choose a random picture

I'm assuming the share button is the thing that looks like a 'V' turned on its side with three blobs on it. The only other option is the dustbin, so it must be.

I press that button, a drop-down box appears.

It offers me a list of options - BBC news, e-mail, skype. No wi-fi direct or anything that resembles it. Not even bluetooth, even though it is enabled and eating battery power like nobody's business.

I go back to settings. The blue tick has gone from the Wi-Fi direct.

Edit:

Another thing - I just looked in the pull-down menu and it says 'Bluetooth share: Sent files' 3 unsuccessful - that must be the three that I was trying to send earlier to my laptop as an experiment.

So I press one of them, and it says connection unsuccessful and invites me to try again.

So I try again and instead of sending the file it opens the camera and says 'neoreader' in the top left hand corner. Except it isn't a camera as I can't take a picture - it just asks me to enter a code. It looks like some kind of bar scanner, but I can't see the relevance here. I just want to transfer a file.

I just tried it. Sony's devs didn't take the time to make their Wifi direct option on their phones to work directly. It uses a third party app (OfficeSuite) to share contents. Unlike Samsung galaxy S3 where you have the option to see what devises you're connecting to and able to share easily.

So you need to install Office Suite to be able to use Wifi direct. You'll then have the option to click on share and (OfficeSuite Wi-fi Direct)

Good luck Winking_Face
