I lost the electronic user guide on my X10. The tutorial does not open. Now it launches the browser at the following URL www.sonyericsson.com/cws/support/
How to restore access to the electronic user guide?
I think it is stored on your SD card, so have you changed card, formatted or deleted some things from there?
Not sure but I thought it was part of PC Companion so try this.
On your phone go to Settings>Applications and tick PC Companion Installation, then exit to home page
Plug your phone into your PC via the USB you will be asked to install PC Companion, tap start and let it run
Once its finished disconnect the phone from your PC
Go back to settings>Applications and un-tick PC Companion Installation
Now see if your user guide has been repaired
If you have a file manager you can check to see if the app data is still on your phone by opening your file manager and checking in the SD Card folder PC Companion>Applications,
there should be two files located in there, one about 100kb and one about 14mb, if they are there the data is on your phone.
I've formatted the sdcard and then I apply the factory reset. I thought the factory reset write directories and files deleted from sdcard but it is not.
What are the default files from sdcard?
How to restore all default files from sdcard?
I have reinstalled PCCompanion. User guide has not been repaired. No new file in sdcard. The directory PCCompanion does not exist.
I've copied the directory PCCompanion->Applications from another X10. I have written this in my sdcard. User guide has not been repaired.
As others have said the electronic guide and other help files comes within the SD card that SE provides. I think you have formatted or deleted the content of that SD card. Restoring with PC companion or other software will not help you regaining this document. If you had made a backup of the files in the default SD card, the guide can be regained.
What information do you want from the user guide specifically?
You can download a .pdf of the user guide to your PC and access it from there or access a user guide via PC Companion.
Once a card is formatted the files are gone. The factory repair/reset will only affect the phone memory, not the contents of the SD card, which is why you don't lose your photo's or music etc when you run repairs on SEUS or PCC.
I have a file on my SD card called 'others' that contains emanual.zip which is the file I think you need if you can copy that from your friends X10, you can open it with Astro file manager and then select the language you want. There is also one called PC Companion looks like it contains the phone manual, but I would think this is what you get when you first connect your phone to the PC and load up the companion package.
But SUZE I think he is annoyed with the useless icons, User Guide and User Support which cannot be removed. These icons when clicked will lead to an error page. This must be really annoying. I think our support forum should try to upload the relevant file in Zip format. I have a very slow internet connection and I am sure that the upload will get interrupted in midway, else I would send it to him.
I just got an X10a Android 2.1 from my local SP a couple of days ago. There was no guide from the get go, and I know i haven't formatted the included 16gb SD card, because I couldn't tell you how to do it yet.
Is this because my phone is the 2.1 version? IF so, how can I too, get this guide on to my phone?
I think this is what you are looking for, just follow the instruction and you will get the user guide back to your phone.
