100 views and no answers means no one knows the answer.  Most European users have access to the android market and use that to get apps.  I understand that there are problems with this in certain locations elsewhere.

You can connect your phone up to the pc and copy it over to your sd card but you then need a means of running the installation.  There is an installer on the phone but I dont know how you activate it without a file manager and the normal way to get one of those is via the Android market or Appbrain, on your phone.

I will give you a link to a thread that was over on the mini section that has some information about working around not having the Android market but I don't know that it will give you the answer that you need.  http://talk.sonyericsson.com/thread/5454?tstart=0

OK, don't know much about mini pro but guess its similar to x10 in most ways.

You need a file manager app on your phone there are plenty of free ones, when you have the file manager app, open it and create a folder on your SD card call it something like App Files.

Now close the app and connect teh phone to your PC and using PC Companion click on the File manager option and open the folder you just created on your phone.

Now in a separate window open the folder with the app in, right click and select copy then re open the folder on your phone and right click and select copy.

Close both windows and disconnect your phone, then go to the file manager on your phone and open the folder you put the app in.

Tap the app and you should get a message about allowing 3rd part apps to install, tap OK and it will take you to the setting to tick the box, once ticked it should return you to the app and install it.

This works on teh x10 so I presume the x10 mini pro will be the same.

I have heard of the SLWM but I also heard it was as buggy as heck! One of the users on my other forum said you had to restart the computer with the phone attached to get it to work.  Someone else said it didn't work until they were rooted.  If you can use it then it is very good when it works.
