have had my x10 fro 3 days.  love most everything...except that most of my hotmail access is limited.  what happened?  no folders or contacts available.  tried tech support, but they were of no help.  said i needed to use gmail instead.  can't change everything over at this late date.have archived stuff in hotmail going back years.  did i load hotmail to the x10 incorrectly?  is there a way around this?  they may get the phone back.

Hi. When I need to access my hotmail email, on my mobile, I just type hotmail into google and I have full access to my hotmail features.

If you are using Hotmail through the Email app, you can still access the Folders by pressing the Menu button and selecting Folders and you should be able to do everything else from there. Otherwise, just go Hotmail using the Browser on your phone. Hope this helps!

i've got the hotmail and gmail on my x10 mini pro and have no 'menu' button. All i can see is the inbox, outbox, sent and drafts folders. If i want to create a new email where can i get my contacts from? this is without going to the browser but within the email app.

oh haven't used that. Is that instead of or as well as? Sorry you'll have to treat me as someone who hasn't done any of this before!

Timescape I don't think is going to be the answer, it is a viewing and linking tool rather than one to actually run a mail programme.  I don't currently have email set up on my X8 to test out the where's and why for's.  If the contacts you are talking about are ones associated with yahoo and gmail then you will need to have these synced on to your phone for them to be accessible by the mail app.

On my X10 you have to type in the first couple of letters to get the email addresses to pop up for that contacts.

ok, sorry to be thick but how do i sync? Think i need to do this as when i type in the url nothing comes up.

i've gone to settings/accounts & sync/add account/ syncML/   then not sure what to put in here

Name (hotmail?), server address (www.hotmail.co.uk?), username (my hotmail username?), password (my hotmail password?)

Sync interval (1 hour?), contacts - server address (not sure what to put here, pop3.live.com?), username (my hotmail username?), password (my hotmail password?)

I think you need to export your contacts from hotmail into gmail then sync your phone with gmail and your contacts will be available to you when you use the stock app from mailing.  Here is a link on how to export your contacts from hotmail into gmail.
