Hi
When I try to enable the GPS on the experia arc it states that it wants to collect anonymous data while the gps is used and that a cost for data traffic can be added.
I can choose that I agree or that i disagree.
I disagree but then it just turns the gps off.
So how do I use the GPS without it recording data and sending it away ?
I have already chosen that I do not want it to send anonymous data to sony ericsson.
This means that I can not use the gps in other countries to fx geotag photos and so on.
You can go to settings -> location and security -> use wireless networks
it won't be as accurate but it will collect some information, at least you have the option to allow it or not (not so much the iUsers)
if you only want the GPS for maps you can download offline maps and that will work just fine
Hi Uliwooly
Thanks for the suggestion but that will not work.
when I klick use wireless networks i get a popup that states that a fee for datatraffic will occur.
if i choose that i do not allow then it does not engage.
so it is the same problem. it sends and recieves data to someone about me.
As I recall all that info goes to Google so google ads will be based on your location
