Sony Ericsson has promised product support for two years and not only these  minor updates. The X8 is less than half a year and yet you are not willing to support the product. There are everywhere on the net uprisings demanding for updates. Be it on Xda Forums or even Facebook. The Xperia series are a big revenue stream for you yet you are rejecting to accept that it is vital to give ongoing support. Furthermore look at your competitors they are giving out regular updates on products older than the x8, well all the main android manufacturers are. Even the ORANGE PHONE: San Francisco is getting the 2.2 update. At least be honest and give a proper reasoning for not giving an ongoing support, and anyways the specs of the x8 are superior than many other 2.2 phones.

Please be decent to give a reply and

you X8 owners write something to support me.

Re: Where is the DLNA update?

I hope you appreciate the frankness of these answers.

How is it then that you will not update all the Xperia phones to 2.3?
Why  would not we (we, as in your existing customers) who have already  purchased one of your phones be interested in an update to 2,2/2,3?

We have been over this time and time again. We are not getting into specifics.

You promised us two years of updates and support.
You gave us seven months. Is this how you run a business?

Our site @ www.sonyericsson.com/update used to say we could provide updates for UP TO 2 years. We never stated more than this.

You write further that you currently don't plan to update us to 2,2 / 2,3,
how  much more protests and disgust with S.E. do you need before you have to  realize that you have made a huge mistake?, and when can you possibly  have changed your mind on the update matter?

We stated we didn't anticipate the push for software from consumers that we saw, and have committed to doing better in the future. This does not mean we are changing past decisions.

You already have a 2.3 version to your new phones,
it  can't take many days for your developers to port it so it works with  other Xperia handsets. That should be your top priority right now!

I make no claims to understand programming, but clearly this is not a simple process.

Android  is a new OS and is at this point were depending on the updates. Not  that you think your 2.1 is the best ever made. We are many who believe  that to get the most and the best out of your phone an update necessary.

I agree 2.1 is in the minority of Android devices right now, but it is still used on many devices.

You lied not only about two years of updates, but also about implementing DLNA support.
What else have you lied about, and what will you lie on to future customers?

See above about "two years of support". I agree the wording of the DLNA update should have been worded better, clearly "planned" would've been a better explanation.
