Earpiece and Ringtone Volume

Hi There,

I have just purchased my X10 no more than a day ago and find that when talking to someone the ear piece volume is not very loud. I have set the volume setting to max and its still very faint and hard to hear.

I also find the Ring Tone Volume is not very loud, even after setting it to max.

I have confirmed the Firmware is the latest version, just as a process of elimination.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Or could be that I have a faulty handset?

Look forward to some help please.

Cheers

Mightyboy

I personally find mine to be all right in these regards, but if you look to the right of this message at the 'More Like This' section, you will see that you are not alone.  For what it's worth. I use a song as my ringtone, and that is almost embarassingly loud.  Might be worth trying (play the song you want, press the menu key and select 'Set as ringtone').  Might depend on the song, of course, but if it works, at least you'll hear the phone ringing, even if you can't properly hear the person when you do answer it...

Yeah, I also have same problem with my earpiece of my white X10, especially when I make a phonecall outdoor, it seems like weak point of X10.

I don't have a problem with the volume on the earpiece in the phone, although it is softer than the usual ones. But it is nothing like what most claims to be almost inaudible. Someone commented that if you placed the earpiece even slightly off, the sound qualitydiffers quite a lot. You might want to try different positionings.

As for the ringtone, you might want to choose your own or something else. It has nothing to do with the speaker. In fact almost all the ones given in the nphones are very soft to begin with. I used a customized oneswhich are much louder originally. You might want to try that.
