Dropped in pool :(

Is there any hope for my new Xperia Play R800x? I accidentally dropped it in the pool, I got it out immediately and took the battery out and started drying it off. Then I stuck it in a bag of rice. Now when I put the battery in and tried to turn it on it vibrates once like it normally does when it first gets turned on but then nothing happens. What should I do?????????? HELP please thanks

how long you left it in the bag of rice? you need to leave it at least a whole day or two before you attempt to turn it on

the LCD screen might be dead, contact Sony Ericsson and see how much they'll charge you to replace it, also try to connect it to your computer and see if you can mount the SDcard, if you can then it could be only the LCD

It fell in the pool about 1ft deep and for about 3-5 seconds. I had it in the bag of rice for about 24hrs. and its been sitting out for 48hrs approx. i tryed to turn it on several times plugged it into the pc and nothing happend except for the red light came on on the power button like it was chargeing. it cant be my sd card because i put that into an old phone to see if it worked and it did.

Hi there,

What you need to try is connecting the USB cable to the phone with the memory card inserted in the phone and see if anything happens.

If not I think you would have killed the phone if all you are getting is the red light and nothing else. Also I don't think warranty covers water damage so it looks like a new phone is on the cards unless the service centre actually repairs it.

Unfortunately moisture damage is definitely not covered under warranty...

It probably would be cheaper to get a new one then fork out money to try repair it... Especially seeing Horizon is selling the phone for $200 US now.

You could even try the Xperia Active and use your phone in the pool with no damage Winking_Face
