i got the 16gb memorycard so i thougt i'd convert some videoclips made with a proper videocamera that uses .mov format
Also got some snagged youtube clips in realtimeformat that id like to convert.
I'm using AVS videoconverter to do this.
looking at a vidclip made with the phone i see it's saved in .3gp format.
i load the .mov file and then save it to .3gp but it will not play on the phone
i've tried different settings on the screensize, audio quality and managed to get some bad quality audio to play but thats about as far as i get.
theres alot of settings to change on both videocodecs and audiocodecs.
Trial and error method would just take to long.
So what settings exactly should i use to get a converted file to behave on the x10 mini pro?
Videcodec? (intel itu H.263 or MPEG4?)
Framesize?
Framrate?
Bitrate?
filetype? (3gp rel.1,3gp rel.2, 3gp rel.3, 3gp rel.4 or 3gp mp4 etc etc)
and the audio?
samlperate?
bitrate?
audiocodec?
just to get the settings of a file recorded on a x10mini would help alot.
Hello friend, there is a PC software that can convert video files that can be played on Xperia. It actually has an option entirely dedicated to the phone. Software name: “Free Video to Android Converter.” You can download and have an overview the features of software at the following link http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/products/dvd/Free-Video-to-Android-Converter.htm
video codec- u can either use H264 or H263

njoy
cheers
two really good tips.

Hi,
I know your question is answered, but just a tip:
The Xperia can playback 720p Videos (1280x720)
Just convert to mp4 with this resolution. Amazing quality!!
as for sound.. 96 or 128 bitrate is fine to keep file size low.
Only once have I successfully played a full HD video without any playback issues... maybe a lower bitrate... ?
Anyway, thought I'd just add this
Sebastian.
The video formats that Xperia X10 supports are MP4/H.263/H.264/WMV.
If you would like to put various video files onto this phone, you have to transcode them to Xperia X10 playable video formats.
My phone is iPhone 4 and I always use Aunsoft Video Converter to convert video files to MPEG 4 and H.264 for my phone. And its phone profile works fine.

Hope my reply give you some help.
Good luck.
I use Aura DVD ripper - it's quick and does a good job.
I don't see the point in playing HD movies on the X10 - surely, the screen resolution is too low to display it properly?
U can have a try with this video converter which enables u to convert any video files to a compatible video format for xperia x10. It will good vide/audio presets for u. It works for me great.
Good luck
