charge my phone in my car but it doesn't work

it may just be that the charger you have doesn't work. any in car usb adaptor or charger should work as it's only a simple 5v feed. Can you try your charger on any other device?

You'd have thought so, but they don't all work on SE (or Nokia) phones.  I have a couple of car chargers, neither of which work with my X10, and didn't work with my old Nokia either, but they work perfectly with other devices.
