Cannot read SIM

Intalled Android 2.1 and ran the back up and restore program as explained in instructions, now i cannot see the contact / favourite info as i have a message that the phone cannot read the sim card, all the phone numbers are showing in the call log but not the contact info, i have tried taking the sim out and battey out and re-installing them but still no luck, any ideas anybody

Try putting your SIM card to another phone or insert another valid SIM Card on your X10 to check.

Maybe the update didn't go well as expected?! Run the update again to confirm.
