can i turn off the word suggestions on My new sony ericsson spiro?

Hi, i have just purchased a sony ericsson spiro w100i after having had a k310i for many years. On the k320i was a word suggestions option which had "display as list" or "dont display"selecting "dont display" meant that i didnt have the box showing up with a list of possible words i was typing in. On the new phone (w100i) I found "word suggestions" and "next word suggestions" both of which i set to off.

However i am still having word suggestions displayed.

I would like to know if it is possible on the w100i to not have the list of words displayed as it was with the k310i? any help would be greatly appreciated and of course if it isnt possible to have it not displayed i will just have tp get used to it .

If your phone has predictive text (T9) and you turn it off, will this not stop the display of words?

It does if i turn off predictive but I wanted to keep the predictive but lose the word display, with the oold k310i i was able to.
