Bluetooth keeps turning off after upgrade to 32.2.A.0.253

Hi,

so I've got a Z5 compact, and the bluetooth sounds was very often stuttering, no matter what device it was connected to (car, BT headhphones, BT speakers, ...). Since the upgrade to 32.2.A.0.253, the problem seems to be gone, but now bluetooth often (every few minutes) turns itself off, and then back on. Sometimes I have to turn it on again myself.

Anyone else has that problem? Will that phone ever work the way it should?

I have done the repair as instructed by Sony. The Bluetooth disconnecting issue is still here but the frequency of the cut is lower: it cuts every 10-20 minutes now.

We need another update from Sony...

After a few days, the frequency of issue is back to 5 to 10 min.

After explained this to Sony, I was requested to send my Z5 for harware verifications in their premises... Very useful, these guys are not able to recognise a software issue... As expected the software repair was not helpful at all.

I believe if Sony does not want to acknowledge that there is an issue on their bluetooth software, we will have to wait for android Nougat or change for another phone.

Does some one have any issues with .253 after installing a complete clean install? My experiences are that 80% of the issues after an update are the result of an install over the old version maintaining settings and apps.

Right now i'm on .224 and it works like a charm!

I have done a clean software repair and reinstalled all apps with my Google account then imported my settings from the Sony app. I have no time to spend a day reinstalling all my apps manually.

The problem is still here... I have done several tests to remove some apps but it does not help. The only thing that seem to stop the issue is to run on safe mode...

I believe something is wrong with the throw app or the smart connect app.

If Sony does not want to acknowledge this issue and does not release a fix, i will just sell my z5 and avoid Sony for the future.

But did you do a clean install of Android? It will solve problems in most cases.

I did a software repair through Xperia companion. I am not sure what you mean by doing a clean install, it this different than a software repair ?

I have done a factory reset without carrying over settings from Google or importing Sony backup data.

Since yesterday, I have not encountered any Bluetooth issue...

I am reinstalling applications progressively...

I also started to get the Bluetooth Issue after starting connecting my Huawei watch and installing Android Wear. It's not as bad as I read your cases but I do get about 5 disconnects during the day. I beleave is the Android Wear app and not the Watch since sometimes I'm not wearing the watch at all and still does it. Before I didn't had the Android Wear installed in my phone, never had this issue. Just be advised that we should start a complaint in the Google forum for this app.

Since I did the factory reset without importing any Google or Sony settings the problem was solved. I have pretty much installed the same apps than before and the problem is gone so far.

I assume the update process created issues within the Google or Sony settings created the disconnecting issue. I still have some stutter when I start some music and there is apps running in the background but it disappears after 5 second.

I am not sure if your problem is related as my disconnections were happening every 5 to 15 minutes quite randomly.

The bug of the battery graph remain present but it is far less annoying than what the Bluetooth issues used to be !
